General Operation

We manufacture from small dumbwaiters S.W.L 100 Kg to Industrial Goods Hoists S.W.L 20 000 Kg
We will manufacture to suit any special sizes or applications. Structural steel towers are also available.

Installations

  • Due to the fact that the lifting machine is of modest dimensions and may be located in any convenient position adjacent to, or remote from the lift shaft at any level, expensive building modifications are avoided, particularly in existing buildings.
  • Special sizes to suit existing building constraints are easily catered for.
  • Car entrances may be arranged on any or all of three sides.

  • Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations, 2010 – Incorporation of Code of Practice for Existing Goods Hoists Installations

This “Code of Practice for Existing Goods Hoists Installations” (installed prior to 30 September 2015) was incorporated on 3 February 2017 into the Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations, 2010. Previously existing goods hoist installations were regulated under the Driven Machinery Regulations from 1988. These Regulations were repealed by the 2015 Driven Machinery Regulations, and Reg. 23(2) thereof states that goods hoist must, within five years, comply with the provisions of the Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations, 2010.

This Code now regulates existing goods hoist installation, meaning that they have to satisfy the requirements of the Lift, Escalator and Passenger Conveyor Regulations. This includes the registration of all units with the regional office of the Department of Labour, regular servicing/maintenance etc., record keeping and so on.
